Located right on the outskirts of town, Goldfields Reservoir is a great place for a swim, kayak, picnic or bushwalk. The shallow water by the boat ramp and the newly constructed nature play space make this a great place to bring the kids for a splash as well.

Set along the Loddon River in Baringhup, this peaceful park is a great place for swimming, fishing and bushwalking. While the bank is fairly steep to access the water, there are plenty of great spots to set up with a fishing rod or make your way down to the river for a swim. A single picnic table overlooks the water, and there is a dirt road which travels through the park along the river bank which makes a great scenic walk.

Mount Cameron Gorge is a beautiful swimming and fishing spot just 25 minutes from Maryborough and 15 minutes from Clunes. Mt Cameron-Cotswold Road drops unexpectedly into a deep gorge before crossing the scenic Tullaroop Creek. A low bridge crosses the water, with a small cascade to one side and an excellent swimming area to the other. This area is great to bring kids swimming as the creek floor is covered with smooth stones and there's a fair stretch of shallow water before it starts to get deeper.

The Bealiba Reservoir Recreation area is a fantastic spot for camping, picnics, fishing, swimming and bushwalking. There are three picnic sites around the small reservoir, two of which are well equipped with tables, chairs and fire pits. Two non-flush toilets are close to the picnic areas. The dirt tracks around the reservoir make great walking/cycling tracks, and the beautiful Mount Bealiba is located up behind the reservoir.
