Market Reserve Recreation Area is a fantastic public space in Carisbrook which features a fenced playground, undercover picnic area, BMX track, community rose garden, information signs and toilets. The Heathcote Playspace is a bright, colourful and creative play area, uniquely designed to reflect the region's significance as a grape-growing centre. A huge wooden barrel is incorporated into the playground's central play structure, and half-barrels are used as planters throughout the play space. The playground includes many more interesting features such as a mini Heathcote Market, a balancing ring made out of wine barrels, and a manual water pump (which flows into another barrel, of course). Although there is an open gate here, and the fences at the back are simply wire fences, the park is largely enclosed and set back from the road.
